A Nottinghamshire police officer is appearing at a gross misconduct hearing to answer claims of dishonesty in connection with the investigation of a crime.
The hearing has been announced for Monday, December 14 at the Force Headquarters at Sherwood Lodge, Arnold.
The officer, who has not yet been named, is said to have not taken any action after a victim reported a crime and said they were prepared to give evidence.
The allegations in full
- Failure to take action after being told about an offence from a victim which the victim was prepared to give evidence of
- Failure to take action to ensure that another officer could take the next necessary steps
- Failure to accurately or completely record the detail of the incident or to take any steps to ensure that this was done
- Completion of a risk assessment form which included entries which were known to be false or not believed to be true, knowing or believing this would give a false impression of the risk posed to the victim
- Completion of a statement which was either known to be false or otherwise not known to be true
A force spokesman said: “The panel chair has determined that proceedings will be heard in public.”
The Government announced in March that some police misconduct hearings should be open to the public.
Next week’s hearing will be the fourth the Nottinghamshire force has held in the open since the rules were changed.
