Players Factory searched for body of murder victim Bogdan Nawrocki

Players Factory - Bogdan search

Forensic teams are searching the ground of the former cigarette factory in Player Street, Radford in a continued search for the body of murdered Polish man Bogdan Nawrocki.

Based on information from previous appeals, police officers are searching the area around Player Street which was the site of a large fire in March.

Police have ruled out any connection between the fire and the murder enquiry.

Bogdan, 22, went missing from his home in Radford in January 2014 prompting wide scale searches and appeals.

Life sentence

In February 2015 a jury unanimously convicted Robert Marcinkiewicz-Szukowski, of his murder. He’s currently serving a life sentence. Marcinkiewwicz-Szukowski refused to reveal to the court where he had hidden the body.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Heydon, who led the investigation, said: “We succeeded in seeing justice carried out for Bogdan but despite a vast amount of searches we have been unable to give his family the opportunity to give him the funeral he deserves.

“We are continuing to support Bogdan’s family. I said we would not stop looking and these searches are evidence of that. I’m grateful to everyone who has given us information and enabled us to conduct these subsequent enquiries and searches.”

“We still have a £5,000 reward for information so if you know anything that could help it’s not too late. We continue to appeal specifically to the Polish community who we believe hold the key to finding Bogdan. My officers are ready and waiting for your call and you will be dealt with in confidence.”
