To celebrate national chocolate week, Notts TV has taste tested the Studio Chocolate artist range.

The chocolates are based on work from renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol, Da Vinci and Banksy.

All 12 of the chocolates are designed and produced by chocolatier Ellie Wharrad and are created by hand.

Speaking about her favourite of the range, Ellie said: “The blue one, it’s blackberry and violet and is inspired by Georgia O’Keefe who blends a lot of colours together.

“I studied art A Level so I have quite a good background in art, I have my own favourite artists and I picked the chocolate designs based on those favourites and other well known ones.

“I experimented with the designs for a couple of weeks, with the colours, different ways of doing it.”

We’re quite different to what else is here in the city

Ellie turned her hand to decorating chocolates when she was at home for Christmas in 2014 and gained a lot of interest.

She said: “I just graduated and was looking for jobs in pastry when I started playing around with this.

“It went really well, I got a lot of Facebook orders and things went from there.

“I’ve set up a website and have rented this kitchen in Nottingham because it’s quite different to what’s here in the city; so far we’ve had very good feedback!”
