Tweet: Some people in Bingham were still without water this morning
Severn Trent had to bring in a new length of a pipe to repair the damage, which was so bad a car fell into the sink hole it created.
The company said on Monday: “We’d like to apologise to everyone who’s been affected because we’re very aware of how difficult it is to be without water for so long.”
During the shortage, which created problems from difficulty in getting water to livestock to mild inconvenience, some people took to social media to generate some stiff-upper-lip spirit using classic Notts humour.
Here’s a rundown of some of the best posts from across the weekend.

4. No water, no choice
People in Bingham said without water alcohol was the only option and used the shortage as an excuse for a tipple.

1. Toilet trouble
One thing about having your water cut off – the toilet doesn’t flush. This was a particular problem in one household.
Curry night last night, houseful of guests that stayed over, woke up to find no water supply. Thanks @stwater, you’re the best ?
