A teenager was slashed in the face and neck at the Forest Rec park and ride after being involved in an argument.
The 19-year-old victim remains at the Queens Medical Centre after the attack unfolded at around 11.30pm on Sunday.
He suffered deep cuts on his cheek and neck but his condition is not life-threatening.
Notts Police say the victim and his friends got into an argument with two other men, one who is white and one who is black.
The 19-year-old was then slashed with a blade, but it is not known exactly what kind of weapon was used.
A large section of the car park was cordoned off this morning while officers examined the scene.
