Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Reuben Morris-Laing in St Ann’s.
A 29-year-old man from the Nottingham area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 22-year-old woman, also from the Nottingham area, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They are both in police custody.
Reuben Morris-Laing was found injured outside the Premier Express shop, on Robin Hood Street, just before 9.30pm on Wednesday night (March 22).
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre but died as a result of his injuries.
In a statement released through police, Reuben’s family said: “Reuben was a caring, family orientated man who was always in high spirits.
“He was polite and nice to everyone he came into contact with.
“Reuben was also a hardworking role model who had high ambitions.
“He had chosen his vocation as a carpenter which was influenced by his father.
“We are all devastated by what has happened and life won’t be the same without him.”
Notts Police have increased patrols in St Ann’s to provide reassurance to residents, as a regional major crime unit continues a murder investigation.
Officers are appealing for dash cam footage from anyone driving in the area of Robin Hood Street, Campbell Street, Beacon Hill Rise or Stonebridge Road between 9.15pm and 9.45pm on Wednesday March 22 to contact them.
