Detectives say a dangerous and organised team of men were behind the robbery of a ‘substantial’ amount of Money from the Cinderhill Tesco.

Police were called to the Express service station on the A610 Nuthall Road just after 6.30pm on Thursday.

Two masked men threatened staff and hit a delivery driver before making off with a cash.

The men are believed to have escaped on foot over an area of woodland and open ground in the direction of New College Nottingham’s Basford Hall campus and Basford Miners Welfare.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Nuthall Road, Bagnall Road and Cinderhill Road areas in the moments, days and weeks leading up to the robbery.

Detective Inspector Leona Scurr said: “This service station is on a very busy commuter route where hundreds of people will have been in the area as they travelled home from work and went about their normal business.

“Those responsible for Thursday’s robbery are clearly very dangerous individuals who we believe will have spent some time planning their attack and may have visited the area on a number of occasions in the lead up.

“The way the men left the area over open ground towards a busy residential area gives us more reason to believe the men know the area well, probably were not working alone and may have left the area in a vehicle after initially escaping on foot.

“We are appealing for people to think whether they have seen anyone or any vehicles acting suspiciously in the area recently as any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help us to find those responsible.”

No arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 691 of January 29.
