Watch: What Eastwood Lottery winners spent their winnings on

An Eastwood family have been speaking about how they have spent their cash one year after winning £1 million on the National Lottery.

David and Yvonne Brown and their daughters Becky and Julie won one of the gold prizes put on in the Lotto Medal Draw.

They put money into a syndicate each week to buy a lottery ticket, and after dividing the winnings equally between themselves, they still decided to combine on purchases including a share in a holiday lodge.

They also bought a surrey bike – famous for appearing in children’s television series Chucklevision, while dad David had a ‘six month love affair’ with an Aston Martin.

Two of the first things they bought were a pack of doughnuts and a new toilet seat.

Yvonne said: “It just does not sink in, even a year later, it’s still hard to accept.”
