Video: El Boogz speaks to Andrew Cowper about his uncle, Notts music and a strange love
American rapper El Boogz, nephew of the late RUN DMC DJ Jam Master Jay, came into Notts TV to speak about his performance at the Oxjam Music Festival.
RUN DMC was an iconic American rap group who revolutionised hip hop music in the 1980’s.
The event hosted at Antenna on Monday (October 31) was put together by Oxfam UK and Event & PR Management group Ucreate.
Many local grass root artists also featured in the festival including the likes of Lia White, The Mocking Jays and Jah Digga.
CEO of Ucreate Tamika Martin said: “Ucreate hope to change the Nottingham music scene post Oxjam.”
The night of Oxjam also marked the anniversary of DJ Jam Master Jay’s death. El Boogz performed a RUN DMC medley at the event in honour of his late uncle.
