Watch: Scary Halloween maze returns to Stapleford back garden to raise money for charity

Thrill seekers in search of a scare this Halloween can again visit a haunted maze built in a Stapleford back garden.

Halloween 107, a project by Matt Hall and his production company Pixel8 Productions, features gruesome dismembered dolls, severed heads, and creepy cobwebs.

The event will run on a ‘donate what you want’ entry model – with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

“It’s all for a good cause and it’s something that’s come from many years of hard work”, said Matt.

“It takes about a month to put together; we started at the beginning of October. The attention to detail this year has been much more of a focus than it was last year”.

The props around the maze have been described by the organisers as “a mish-mash of everything you’d see in films and horror sets”.

The scare-fest takes place in a purpose-built wooden structure in the back garden 107 Brookhill Street in Stapleford.

According to Adam Johnson, who helped create it, the organisers have worked hard to build on the experience from last year.

The spooky maze, which features spaces such as a spider cave and a butcher’s room, will be open for just one night – October 31st.

Doors will open at 5pm, closing when everyone who wants to look around has done so. It is unticketed and anyone can attend as long as they make a donation.

Both Matt and Adam are optimistic about the night and after raising over £600 last year, they have custom-built a huge donation box for the event.

“Usually we have a regular donation bucket that gets full four or five times throughout the night”, said Adam.

“We’re hoping we can raise even more money for the good cause this year.”
