Conmen targeting Nottinghamshire with ‘lottery win’ letter

Notts Police, scam letter, postcode lottery, fraud

Fraudsters are targeting Nottinghamshire with a new ‘Postcode Lottery’ letter scam.

Notts Police are asking people to look out for the mail after it was sent to a Sutton-in-Ashfield man.

Officers believe many more families will have been targeted and are asking people not to be tempted to fall for the letter’s request to call a ‘foreign service manager’ to claim their ‘prize’ of £825,000.

The letter claims to have come from from the People’s Postcode Lottery ‘Award International Program’. The letter states the householder should call the manager “for the processing and remittance of your money”.

A spokesman for Notts Police said: “In the message, it states that you should ring the Foreign Service manager of UK Security Solutions to claim your prize.

“There is no such thing as the People’s Postcode Lottery 2015 Award International Programs. It is a scam to get your bank account details.”
