A man who died after being hit by a car on the A60 in north west Notts has been named as Johnathan James Masters.

Johnathan, who was known as Jay, was struck on the road close to Cuckney at around 6.30pm on Friday.

The 25 year-old, from Mansfield Woodhouse, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre but later died.

His family have paid tribute to him in a statement in which they revealed Johnathan was on the organ donor register and had already helped other people waiting for transplants.

His relatives said: “We are devastated by the events of last Friday but are comforted by the knowledge that some of his donated organs have made a difference to other people.

“We would also like to pass on their gratitude to all the emergency services and staff at the QMC that cared for Johnathan.”

The crash, which involved a Jaguar car, happened on the Warsop side of the junction of Budby Road and the A60.

Police said Johnathan’s family has requested that no flowers or tributes are left at the collision site.

Anyone who saw the crash is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 666 of March 4, or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
