Roads re-opened around the scene at 11.30am.

A person has died after falling from part of the Broadmarsh car park on Collin Street in Nottingham city centre.

Several passers-by said they had seen a person lying on the ground close to the multi-storey car park at around 11am on Monday.

Emergency services closed the road for a short time and the person was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, where they were pronounced dead.

Police did not release the person’s gender or any further details but said the incident was “not suspicious”.

A spokesman for Notts Police said: “Police were called to the Broadmarsh Centre at Collin Street just after 11am, to a person who had fallen from a building.

“They were taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries but later died. Officers are not treating it as suspicious.”

Jenny Guest posted on Facebook: “Someone fell from the car park, we saw the person laid on the floor, thoughts go out to the family.”

The road re-opened at around 11.30am leaving a small police cordon around the scene.
