PREVIEW: Notts ‘have to do what we do well’ to beat Exeter

Video: Sheridan on the Exeter manager’s teams and the long trip

Notts County manager John Sheridan has been concentrating on what the Magpies have ‘done well’ this season ahead of their away game at Exeter tonight (Tuesday September 27).

Sheridan focused on County scoring goals with the Magpies having netted six goals in their last two games.

This has helped propel Notts to ninth in the Sky Bet League Two table with both games resulting in wins; the 3-2 win at Cheltenham was followed by a 3-1 home win against Leyton Orient.

They haven’t had the best of starts

Speaking about how Exeter will test the Mapgies, Sheridan said: “Exeter are a good footballing side; they’re a funny side I’ve played against them plenty of times.

“Paul’s [Tisdale] teams always plays good football and if you get them on a good day you’re in for a very difficult game.

“However they haven’t had the best of starts but we’ve just got to do what we’ve been doing well, which is putting the ball in the back of the net.”

A couple of the married lads are well chuffed

John Sheridan also thinks that although the trip is ‘not ideal,’ it’s something that one or two of the players will be relishing.

He said: “I used to do it every weekend so it’s not that far.

“It’s not ideal on a Tuesday night but it’s just something you’ve got to get on with and prepare for.

“A couple of the married lads get away from the hoovering and the ironing for a couple of days so they’re well chuffed!”
