Remembrance service held for victim of Woodthorpe Road crash

A Remembrance service is being held to honour the life of Bryony Hollands at the Mapperley Methodist Church on Monday.

The 19 year old was killed when a car ploughed into her and her boyfriend on Woodthorpe Drive last month.

An off duty nurse fought to save Bryony’s life at the scene of the accident, but she sadly died shortly after being taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre on August 21.

Ben Evans, 20, was also taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’, but is now said to be recovering at home.

Thomas Burney, 26, has today pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and serious injury by dangerous driving.

The Service is being held at Mapperley Methodist Church on Porchester Road on Monday and will give people the chance to pay their respects to Bryony and her family.

The Church will be open from 11am and the service will begin at 12 noon.
