Six inactive Second World War mortar bombs have been found in a Nottinghamshire village in Rushcliffe.

The explosives were uncovered by a building company in land off the A60 at around 12.30pm on Thursday (December 7).

Nottinghamshire Police officers attended along with the bomb disposal unit to make sure the are was safe and the devices were safely removed.

It’s thought the bombs which are 15 inches long were filled with sand and would have been used in training.
