Stonebridge City farm announces name of baby calf

After a public appeal for a name the baby calf has been called Solar and is thriving on the farm.

Solar the calf, was welcomed by staff at Stonebridge City Farm on New years Day, the four legged animal who is nearly a week old was named after a social media competition.

The names were short-listed down to two, Solar and Eclipse but after being drawn from a hat the final name was revealed.

New mum Lunar, is reported to be doing very well and enjoying life on the farm with her new baby.

Steven Gee, Operations Co-ordinator at Stonebridge says the young calf is also thriving.

He said: “She is doing really well and bouncing around, everybody loves her”.

If you want to meet Solar and her mum the farm is open Monday to Sunday 10-3.
