The Castle Pub fire update: The blaze is out

Firefighters at The Castle Pub in Nottingham City centre have managed to stop the ‘severe fire’ that broke out in the kitchen.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the pub before 10:30am when the fire started.

The blaze was put out by 12:32pm after it was tackled by a total of six crews.

It was a severe fire in the kitchen of an old building and our crews got to it straight away.

Stuart Ruckledge, Station Manager for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Nobody was hurt during the fire as staff were only just opening up when the smoke alarm alerted the employees to the blaze. There was limited damage to the Grade Two listed building.
