Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Cohen believes he is fit enough to hold down a regular spot in the Reds starting lineup.

Forest’s number eight made just 17 appearances for the Reds in all competitions last season scoring one goal after another injury hit season but has been given a one year extension by the club.

The 2012/13 Forest player of the year is excited for the upcoming season and cannot wait to start playing again.

Looking forward to the start of the campaign is good for the lads

Chris Cohen said: “It’s lovely to be back training especially for players like myself and Britt Assombalonga who have missed a lot of football over the past couple of years.

“Looking forward to the start of the campaign is good for the injured lads and for the lads that didn’t feel like we achieved what we could have last year.

“Everyone has come with a point to prove and with a new manager as well, it’s exciting times.”

To get full preparation is absolutely key

Chris is delighted that he’s been able to stay fit for preseason and prepare properly ready to be in contention for a regular spot under new manager Philippe Montanier

He said: “This is the second full pre-season I’ve had in about six years or so.

“To get full preparation under your belt is absolutely key in being able to stay fit for the whole season.

“I’m aiming to play a lot of games this season and hopefully the manager will want me to do that.”
