Driver killed in A46 crash near Newark named by police

A man who died after a two-car crash on the A46 near Newark has been named as 91-year-old Harold Davies.

The collision happened on the northbound side of the road close to Collingham at 4.30pm on Sunday.

Notts Police say a Volvo driven by Mr Davies and a Jaguar were involved in the crash.

Mr Davies was from Scarrington, Near Bingham.

The road was closed Northbound between Newark Showground and Station Road in Collingham, but has since been re-opened.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the collision to call 101, quoting incident 661 of November 8.
