Firefighters tackled a large blaze in an industrial garage unit in New Basford on Friday evening.
Three crews along with police and ambulance units, were called to High Church Street at 5.15pm on Friday (May 5).
It is the third major fire in the area of High Church Street in less than a year.
The fire appeared largely under control by around 7.30pm after earlier sending a plume of black smoke over the city.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: “Firefighters are dealing with a garage fire in High Church St, New Basford. Please keep doors and windows closed due to smoke.
“Crews have worked hard to prevent the fire spreading to adjacent properties and to minimise disruption to local people.”
In September a disused factory on Beech Avenue caught fire, three months after a clothing factory on High Church Street was destroyed by a blaze in July.
