Group of people attacked man trying to get his phone back from street thief

A victim of theft was set upon by a group of people who helped a woman trying to snatch his phone in Nottingham city centre.

The 25-year-old man was walking on Long Row at around 1.30am on August 26, when the woman grabbed his phone out of his hands.

When he chased her to try to get it back, he was assaulted by a group of people on Chaucer Street, who stole his watch, wallet, and bank cards.

The cards were used later the same day to buy food in a branch of McDonald’s in Netherfield.

The victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Nottinghamshire Police would like to speak to eight people in connection wtih the incident, some of whom who were pictured on CCTV around the time of the event.
