A man is in hospital with a serious head injury after being attacked in Old Market Square.
The victim was assaulted on the Long Row side of the square, close to Ladbrokes, at around 10.45pm on Wednesday.
Notts Police and paramedics were called to the incident, and the man was taken to the QMC, where he remains in a serious condition.
A cordon is in place close to Ladbrokes, Schuh and the Five Guys restaurant.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to contact Notts Police on 101.
