Man stabbed in Eastwood less than a day after gun incident

A man has been stabbed in Eastwood less than 24 hours after shots were fired in a separate incident in the town.

Police were called to to an address in Ryemere Close at around 7.45pm on Monday night following reports of a serious assault.

They found a 28-year-old man left with serious injuries after being stabbed. He is now being treated in hospital.

It comes after shots were fired at the window of a house in Comet Close, around a mile away from Ryemere Close, at around 8.10pm on Sunday night.

When asked if officers are linking the two incidents, a Notts Police spokesman said the investigations are being treated separately and enquiries are ongoing.
