Members of the public will be able to view brand new plans for the Sherwood Forest visitor centre.

RSPB is leading the presentation on July 25 at Edwinstowe Village Hall after taking over the project in November.

If the work is approved later in the summer, a new centre will be built close to Edwinstowe with the current centre removed.

It will preserve this historic country park for generations

RSPB project manager Ross Frazer said: “We are very excited about this project and the opportunities it will give us to further promote Robin Hood.

“It will also continue to protect local wildlife and continue to preserve this historic country park for generations.”

Nottingham City Council Committee Chairman for Culture Councillor John Knight is similarly pleased at the prospect of the new development.

He said: “It is a good opportunity for local communities to have the chance to see these plans before the RSPB led consortium submit their planning application to Newark and Sherwood District Council.”
