Notts County chief executive Julian Winter resigns

Notts County, Meadow Lane

Notts County chief executive Julian Winter has announced he is leaving the club.

A notice period has been agreed with the board and the club said he will stay in position “while a full handover of duties takes place”.

The news comes just a week after club chairman Ray Trew stood down and put the League Two side up for sale.

However, Winter said his decision was not related to this or other recent events at Meadow Lane.

Winter said: “There have been a lot of changes at the club over recent weeks and I want to stress that my resignation is not in light of these changes.

“I came here with a clear plan of how to take this club forward and it is with regret that I have not been able to complete this important work.”

In a statement Notts County added there would be a “further announcement made in due course”.
