Notts seamer Jake Ball to be handed England debut

Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball will be given his international debut against Pakistan at Lord’s in the opening Test match of the series.

England Test captain Alistair Cook confirmed that the seamer, who has been on the brink of an international breakthrough for months, will be in England’s XI.

The current best Test bowler in the world James Anderson is injured leaving the vacancy open for Jake Ball to be brought into the team.

The first Test of the series gets under way at Lord’s on July 14 at 11am.
