Forest striker Apostolos Vellios says ‘we are ready’ ahead of the Reds’ trip to Ipswich on Saturday (November 19).

Nottingham Forest have picked up one point in their last four games and the point came in the last fixture against QPR which saw a 1-1 draw played out as both sides were reduced to 10 men.

The Reds currently sit 20th in the table, two points above relegation on 16, but Vellios is confident that there is enough time to turn fortunes around.

We have to focus on fixing our problems, then we’ll win

He said: “We have plenty of games ahead of us and we are trying to change some things to be better.

“Montanier so far is a great coach, he tries to be closer to us every day as that relationship is really important; we move forward every day and together.

“Every game is a different game and Ipswich are a good football team but we have to focus on fixing our problems and then I think we’ll have the quality to win many points.”

Montanier has been impressed with how the squad have responded in training to a string of poor results.

He said: “In November, there’s a different focus on fitness because a lot of players have now played a lot of games and some not so much so you have to take that into account.

“We have to use the time over the international break to work, we have more time to spent together to be on the same page.

“When the squad doesn’t have a good result, it can be easy for the players to get sad or have a negative mentality but the squad persevere with a good mentality; they want success and now we need to put that onto the pitch.”

Nottingham Forest’s all-time record v Ipswich Town

Played: 73
Won: 34
Drawn: 18
Lost: 21

The last time the two sides met at Portman Road saw the home side beat the Reds 1-0 with a 63rd minute winner from Ben Pringle sealing all three points for Ipswich.

Earlier last season, when the teams met at the City Ground, both teams took home a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Jonathan Parr had put the visitors ahead in the 74th minute which looked to be enough to secure all three points until Liam Trotter scored his first goal for the club in the 95th minute to earn the Reds a point.

Historically, Forest have a better record against Ipswich in this fixture, having beaten the Tractor Boys 34 times in 73 fixtures.

Ipswich Town currently sit 15th in the table on 21 points.
