Nottingham sales shoppers are being urged to use public transport to avoid long car park queues which gridlocked parts of the city on Tuesday.
Several major Nottingham car parks including Trinity Square and Arndale were full by lunchtime on Tuesday as thousands of people headed for the shops to grab last-minute Christmas gifts or early sales bargains.
And long jams formed around the south side of the city as people queued to get into the Broadmarsh Car Park.
People are being urged to use public transport where possible to avoid a repeat of the delays on Wednesday and Christmas Eve.

Nottingham Travelwise tweeted CCTV images of the Christmas shopping queues on Tuesday
Jamie Swift, marketing manager for tram operator NET, said: “We’ve seen lots of park and ride use over the holiday period so far – people choosing not to come into Nottingham and sit in traffic jams or wait for car parks.
“We’re running a full service Christmas Eve, all day right until midnight and Christmas Day is the only day we’re not running any trams.”
Anthony Carver-Smith, marketing manager at bus company NCT, said: “Christmas Eve we run a Saturday service until about eight o’clock.
“This year we’ll be running buses on Boxing Day on core routes throughout the city, they start from about 6am, so if people need to get to work early they can get the bus and if people want to head to the sales they can come in as well.”
On Bank Holiday Monday there will also be a full Saturday service across the NCT network.
Trent Barton will also not run any buses on Christmas Day but is operating a Sunday service on Boxing Day.
East Midlands Trains will not run any trains on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
