Some of Nottingham’s most talented musicians are preparing to perform at the Albert Hall to raise funds for the victims of the Nepal earthquake.
The twin tremors that hit nine months ago killed thousands of people and left hundredds of thousands of others homeless.
The Nottingham for Nepal Concert for Restoration will take place this Saturday March, 5, at the hall on North Circus Street from 7pm.
X-Factor semi-finalist Isata Kanneh-Mason and an orchestra made up of the area’s most talented school musicians.
- The Robin Hood Youth Orchestra – Made up entirely of Nottingham school students.
- Isata Kanneh-Mason – Finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year and semi-finalist of the X-Factor.
- Former Cantamus Chorister, Laura Roberts who is a former winner of the Carlton Music Makers award.
- Carlton Male Voice Choir who are rightly proud of their record for supporting and encouraging young musicians.
The evening will be hosted by Sony Radio Award-winning Frances Finn, of Notts TV and BBC Radio Nottingham.
The evening hopes to raise more funds to help Nepalese people including large numbers of Gurkhas who are desperately struggling to restore their lives.

Organisers said: “Many people donated generously in the immediate period following the earthquake, but the need for aid and support goes beyond the headlines that hit the news.
“The Nepal earthquake made the headlines in 2015 not only because of the humanitarian disaster but also because of the shocking avalanches it caused on Mount Everest and the stunning deaths of many Western climbers.
“Nottingham for Nepal has grown to include other fundraising efforts too and ways in which people can get involved.”
