Tony Fisher death: Man accused of murder makes first court appearance

A Bestwood man charged with the murder of Tony Fisher has appeared in court for the first time.

Marcus Barton, 41, was at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning after being arrested on Friday.

Mr Fisher was found stabbed to death at his home on Coningswath Road, Carlton, on January 9.

Mr Barton, of Raymede Drive, wore a grey t-shirt and grey trousers as he sat in the dock during the brief hearing just after 10am.

Deputy District Judge Fowler told him he will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on February 15.

Mr Barton was charged by detectives late on Saturday.

Twelve other people arrested in connection with the murder have all been released on bail pending further enquiries.
